On October 18, 2024, Indonesia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) held an award ceremony for puskesmas (primary health facilities) and cities/districts that have demonstrated a high commitment to its integrated primary health care program, ILP. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Indonesia’s Minister of Health, recognized Mojokerto City, one of CHISU’s partner cities, as a city with high commitment to ILP. Dr. Farida Mariana, head of Mojokerto City Health Office, accepted the award on behalf of the city.
Mojokerto City officially launched its ILP and Public Health Laboratory Tier 2 (Labkesmas Tingkat 2) programs in October 2024. CHISU is supporting this launch by assisting the district health office to update its electronic medical records (EMR) system to align it with ILP standards so data can be exchanged with Indonesia’s national health information exchange platform, SATUSEHAT.
The MOH also used the event as an opportunity to launch its updated Working Guidelines for Puskesmas, which addresses changes in demographics, epidemiology, and technological advancements in Indonesia to enhance primary health service delivery.
CHISU showcased how interoperable health systems and data are central to ILP in a booth in the exhibition area alongside other USAID implementing partners including MOMENTUM Country Global Leadership, MENTARI-Primary Health Care, and INTEGRASI.
