Poster Presentation: Empowering health workers with data analysis and use skills to address immunization coverage challenges in Madagascar
About: This poster presents Madagascar's efforts to improve immunization data quality and coverage with CHISU’s support. Addressing a nearly 20 percent gap between administrative and WHO/UNICEF immunization coverage data, the Madagascar Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) focused on skill development, data validation, and innovative solutions. Key outcomes include improved Penta vaccine coverage and reduced stockouts, highlighting the role of accurate data in enhancing vaccination coverage, supporting evidence-based decisions, and advancing public health goals like Universal Health Coverage.

Solution Demonstration: Defragmenting TB service delivery through implementation of interoperability layer in Indonesia - Challenges and lessons
About: Indonesia utilizes health information exchange (HIE) strategies for tuberculosis elimination by 2025. The country introduced SATUSEHAT, an FHIR-based HIE platform, to improve TB data integration across healthcare facilities, enhancing case reporting and proactive case finding. CHISU supported the development of the SATUSEHAT Interoperability Mediator, a tool which supports the Electronic Medical Record and Lab system. This demo will explore how the development of the SATUSEHAT Interoperability Mediator has the potential to defragment the health system, and ensure the health data governance principles of promoting health values.

About: This session covers Indonesia’s efforts to digitalize its National Health Accounts (NHA) system to streamline health expenditure tracking and support evidence-based policymaking. CHISU partnered with Indonesia’s Ministry of Health to develop the Sistem Informasi Pendanaan Kesehatan (SIPK), a digital platform integrating health financing data from key sources. The initiative aims to address data fragmentation and improve the timeliness and accuracy of NHA reports for better health resource allocation.

The platform provides resources for stakeholders across the HIS ecosystem, fostering communication and coordination for initiatives like its national health information exchange platform (SATUSEHAT) and digital maturity assessments. By enabling knowledge sharing among health departments, practitioners, and experts, the HIS Resource Center strengthens participatory governance and accelerates digital health advancements in Indonesia.

Workshop: What gets measured gets done: Applying the Stages of Continuous Improvement toolkit to advance health information system maturity
About: CHISU digitized, applied, and assessed the health information systems (HIS) Stages of Continuous Improvement (SOCI) toolkit in seven countries at least once since 2021. This interactive workshop will delve into these HIS SOCI results to demonstrate how the digitized toolkit facilitates coordination and collaboration to achieve improved understanding and accountability to advance HIS progression and ultimately strengthen health systems for improved health outcomes.
