At the end of January 2024, CHISU convened regional health information system (HIS) stakeholders in the Eastern and Southern Caribbean (ESC) in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago to share lessons learned to strengthen HIS coordination in the region. CHISU led several orientation sessions to reinforce a common understanding of HIS challenges and opportunities across countries. Participants—including health ministries, donors, universities, and other HIS partners—also discussed regional HIS standards and how to address contextual factors that influence the progression of country health information systems. This HIS progression will ultimately support better management and response to emergency and routine health issues.
