Strengthening health information system (HIS) leadership and governance is a priority for Namibia’s Ministry of Health and Social Services (MOHSS) Health Information and Research Directorate (HIRD). In October 2023, the HIS technical working group (TWG) met to review the TWG terms of reference (TOR), and to allow the United Nations and U.S. agencies and partners to present their planned activities to strengthen the HIS. The HIS TWG met again in November to review the TOR. TWG members anticipate that the final version will be ready in January 2024, setting the scene for collaborative support to HIRD.
