Understanding What WHO's New Routine Health Information System Strategy Means for Primary Care and Universal Health Coverage

Robust data and information to prioritize and respond to today’s health challenges and allocate limited resources are essential as countries experience increasing demand for health information. WHO recently launched its Global Strategy for Optimizing Routine Health Information Systems in Countries to assist countries in optimizing their routine health information systems to strengthen primary health care and increase universal health coverage.

On Thursday, September 12 at 9:00 a.m. EDT, CHISU hosted the first in a series of webinars to introduce and explain what the strategy means for countries, starting with the vision, purpose and the five strategic goals as well as basic principles guiding its optimization. Future webinars will provide additional detail on the core contents of the global RHIS strategy and what it means for countries.
